Both Exide and Amaron sell tubular inverter batteries in the same capacities, at prices close enough that the decision rarely comes down to the sticker. It comes down to warranty structure, how the battery behaves after year three, and whether there is a service point near you.

Warranty is the real differentiator

Every brand quotes a headline number — 36, 48, sometimes 60 months. What matters is the split: how many of those months are full replacement, and how many are pro-rata, where you pay a proportion of the current price for a new unit. A 48-month warranty that is 24+24 is a materially different product from one that is 36+12.

Ask for the split in writing before you pay, and keep the invoice — no brand honours a claim without it.

Plate construction and water top-up

Both ranges use tubular positive plates in their main inverter series, which is what lets them survive the deep, daily discharges normal in this region. The practical difference shows up in electrolyte volume: a taller battery with more reserve acid needs topping up less often, typically every four to six months instead of every two or three.

If nobody in the house is going to check the water level, skip both tubular ranges and buy a sealed gel or SMF unit instead — a neglected tubular battery fails faster than a well-treated cheap one.

Service and availability

Exide and Amaron both have dealer networks across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, so a warranty claim is not a problem in either case from Hyderabad or Visakhapatnam. In smaller towns availability is the question worth asking before you commit — a brand whose nearest service point is 90km away is a brand whose warranty is theoretical.

So which one?

For a household that will maintain the battery and wants the longest life per rupee, choose whichever of Exide or Amaron gives you the longer full replacement period in the capacity you need — that single term outweighs every other spec on the label. For a shop or clinic where nobody will do maintenance, ignore both tubular options and buy sealed.
